Couchplay

Privacy Policy

Effective October 13, 2026

In short: Couchplay does not collect, store or share any personal data. There is no account, no analytics, no advertising and no tracking. The app does not talk to any server of ours — we don't run one. Your games, saves and settings stay on your device.

This policy explains how the Couchplay app for iPhone and iPad (“Couchplay”, “the app”, “we”) handles information. It applies to the app and to this website.

Information we collect

None. Couchplay does not collect any information that identifies you or your device, and does not send any data to us or to third parties. We have no user database, and we could not look up anything about you even if asked.

The app contains no third-party SDKs, analytics tools, crash reporters or advertising networks.

Information stored on your device

To work, Couchplay keeps the following only on your device, inside the app's own storage:

We never receive this data. It is removed when you delete the app. If you use iCloud Backup or back up your device to a computer, iOS may include it in that backup, which is handled by Apple under Apple's Privacy Policy.

Purchases

Couchplay Plus, the free trial and tips are sold through Apple's App Store. Apple processes the payment; we never see your name, Apple ID, email address or payment details. The app checks with the App Store on your device to find out whether Plus is active, and remembers the result on the device. Subscriptions can be managed or cancelled in your Apple ID settings.

Player 2 and your local network

When you invite another phone to play as Player 2, Couchplay connects the two devices directly using Apple's Multipeer Connectivity, over Wi‑Fi or peer-to-peer wireless. For this, iOS asks for permission to use your local network.

You can turn off local network access at any time in Settings › Privacy & Security › Local Network. Everything else in the app keeps working.

Screen Mirroring and controllers

Playing on a TV uses iOS Screen Mirroring and AirPlay, and game controllers connect through iOS. These are system features; Couchplay only draws the picture and reads button input, and does not collect anything about your TV or controllers.

Tracking

Couchplay does not track you across apps or websites, and does not use the advertising identifier. On the App Store, the app's privacy label is “Data Not Collected”.

Children

Because Couchplay collects no personal data from anyone, it collects none from children.

This website

This site is a set of static pages. It uses no cookies, analytics or trackers. Like any website, the hosting provider may briefly keep standard server logs (such as IP address and browser type) for security and reliability; we don't use them to identify visitors.

Your rights

Since we hold no personal data about you, there is nothing for us to access, correct, export or delete. You stay in full control of the data on your device and can remove it by deleting the app. If you have a question, you are still welcome to contact us.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the new version will be posted on this page with a new effective date. If a future version of the app ever started collecting data, this policy would be updated before that version is released.
